Oxford United Academy winger Kasway Burton will be part of the U18 squad that take on Sutton United in the FA Youth Cup second round on Friday night.
The young U’s take on the South London side at Oxford City’s Court Place Farm at 7PM on Friday 17th November.
Tickets will be available on the gate and cost £6 for Adults and £3 for Over 65s and Under 18s.
Burton told OUFC.co.uk
“It was a great feeling to get through with the boys and we want that feeling again. That togetherness is really important and it's a good place to be.
“We’re expecting a tough game from Sutton, they gave us a hard time last year and they’re very physical and very aggressive. I think if the boys put our minds to it we’ll be fine.
Kasway scored a hat-trick on the weekend in the U18s 4-2 victory away at Newport.
“It was a pretty good day for me. The first goal was from the edge of the box and on my weak foot, and I stuck it top bins to be fair! It was my first hat-trick of the season and hopefully there are more to come.
“The Youth Cup is always a very good atmosphere for us as well. I think it gets the boys going because there's more fans behind you and you can really feel that support from Oxford fans.
Burton was part of the history making Academy side that made the quarter finals of the Youth Cup last year, despite being an U17 at the time.
“I think it’s definitely a very good advantage to have because you've already got that experience, so I think it's good to be able to guide the younger ones like Leo Snowden. I did the same thing as they are last year, so I know what to say to them and what advice to give.
“I think the boys do love a good night game because there’s the chance to score and celebrate with the fans under the lights. It’s a different atmosphere than we are used to so I think the boys will enjoy it but the most important thing is getting through to the next round".
Come along and support the future of Oxford United as they look to create history again this year.
