Oxford United look to continue their excellent away form when they travel to Leyton Orient on Saturday in Sky Bet League 1
The U’s picked up their fifth away win of the season the last time they went on the road, a win at Lincoln adding to those at Derby, Barnsley, Stevenage and Fleetwood, and as skipper Elliott Moore told us today, it’s key that United stay focussed after the departure of Liam Manning earlier in the week.
“It was a strange start to the week” he admitted “but the focus is now absolutely on Saturday. We have to put it behind us, not use it as a distratction and we have to move on.
”We will do that, I’m sure. We have built the foundations of a really strong and successful season and we have to just carry that on. It doesn't just start on Saturday, it starts today with our first training session since the change happened. We have two days of training and then we will do all we can to get three points at Orient on Saturday.
“We are in really safe hand with Shorty in charge. He has been around since I first joined the club, has been around the game for a long time and he knows what he is doing so we will be good hands.
“Maybe I have a little bit more responsibility as captain right now because it has been a couple of days with a little bit of uncertainty, but all of us have been through things like this before and coming in today we know what we have to do, what to expect, and we know that the focus all has to be on Saturday’s game.
“I know we have sold out the away end again and that’s amazing. The fans have been incredible and we know they will be right behind us on Saturday. They will create a great atmosphere and hopefully we can get the three points for them going into the international break.”
