Derby Guard of Honour

Our Guard of Honour when we welcome Derby County on Saturday are Carterton Under 11s.

Carterton Football Club was founded in 1918 and are going from strength to strength. They have two current senior teams, a large number of junior teams and are in the process of forming a link with OSAA to offer football education opportunities at the club next season.

This week the club is represented by the U11s, who are managed by Alan Cutler and Kayleigh Smith.

The team were put together three years ago, literally weeks before the season started. Since then, they have stuck together and created a family like atmosphere with the help, support and encouragement from all the parents.

Alan has expressed how proud he is of the team and lucky to have such a great bunch of young footballers.

Alan would like to give a special mention to Paul, Alex, Gav, Jason and Phil for volunteering to referee games and run the line. Also, to their fantastic sponsors Matt Higgins at Higgins Flooring.

Carterton U11s are currently unbeaten in the league since 2nd October last year and that has been put down to hard work and commitment.

The whole team are so excited to be on the pitch supporting Oxford United and fully deserve this special experience in front of so many people.
