Oxford United Head of Medical Amy Cranston will be running the London Marathon for our friends at Helen & Douglas House and we’d love fans to support her and help the world’s oldest children’s hospice
The London Marathon takes place on Sunday April 23rd and with just one month to go Amy is stepping up her last minute training.
“It has always been an ambition to run the London Marathon” she told us. “I have always admired the people who train all winter through seriously tough conditions to take part in what’s a fantastic day.
“I always apply in the ballot and have never had any luck. But then our Communications Manager Chris Williams told me his son Ollie had also missed out in the ballot but was going to run to raise funds for Helen & Douglas House. I know what a wonderful place that is after I volunteered for a skydive for them last year. If I’m prepared to jump out of a plane for them then why not push myself and do the Marathon?
“Training has gone well, I aim to do my last big training run next week. My Helen & Dougas House shirt came through this week so it has all become real!”
Amy is better at running than fundraising, so we promised to help her.
Helen & Douglas House is an inspirational place right at the heart of our city. Help them continue to help families all across the county.
