Pre Season Details

Oxford United will head for Spain this summer for some warm weather training as part of their pre-season schedule.

Liam Manning and his coaching team will return to the training ground on Thursday 22nd June- the same day that the Sky Bet League 1 fixtures are announced.

The players will then report back for testing with the Sports Science Team and a first day of training with the coaches on Monday 26th June, spending the first week of pre-season at the training ground.

The squad will then fly out to a sports facility near Alicante for a week of training in Spain before returning on 8th July. Liam told us

"We'll get the testing done and then ease people into what looks a really good programme that we have put together alongside the Sports Science team. Flying to Spain will give us a chance to bond as a team, work with real intensity away from any distractions for that week and hopefully give everyone a chance to get into really great shape for the season ahead."

After two warm up games back in the UK, both behind closed doors, the U's will play their first public friendly away at Eastleigh on Tuesday 18th July, followed by a game at home to Swansea City on Friday 21st.

Another behind closed doors friendly at Bristol City’s Training Ground takes place the next day and will be streamed, before the second home game of the summer against QPR at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 29th.

2023/24 Season Ticket holders will be able to buy half price tickets for the Swansea City and QPR games when they go on sale at 11am on Wednesday 7th June. Click here for more information on Season Tickets
