Oxford United are pleased to announce a new agreement with scouting platform Non-League Gems.
Non-League Gems provide an analytics tool to help spot players across 15 leagues within step 1-4 of the non-league pyramid. They have created the first algorithm that applies predictive modelling to performance data to discover emerging talent from the non-league market.
Oxford United have a proven track record in finding players who have previously slipped through the net and are playing in non-league: Rob Atkinson joined the club from Eastleigh, promising youngster Teddy Mfuni joined last season from Warrington, whilst this summer has seen the signing of highly-rated Ruben Rodrigues from Notts County after they made the step back into the EFL.
Non-League Gems will add to the club’s impressive recruitment network as Peter Chadwick, founder at Non-league Gems, explains:
"We’re delighted to continue working with Oxford United who share our belief that there are non-league players with Premier League potential.
“By using data and insights our software can predict who might be the next non-league sensation and will steer Oxford United’s scouts towards those players. The platform was designed to replace the antiquated model of non-league scouting with a cost-effective and time saving data-informed approach to get eyes on the best players before the rest of the market has heard of them.
United’s Head of Recruitment, Ed Waldron, said:
“It’s fantastic to be working with Non-League Gems as this agreement will help us to continue discovering emerging talent in a really cost-effective way.
“The technology involved is very intuitive and provides in-depth information, in real time. Non-League Gems have been easy to deal with and we look forward to building the relationship over the coming season and beyond.”
