Oxford United Women are delighted to announce that Matt Parry has been appointed as Head Coach of the Development Squad.
Matt worked alongside Liam Gilbert as Assistant Coach when he took over in 2018 and is now returning to help build on the already successful Development Squad.
Having been Head Coach for the U12, U14 and U16 roles previously, Parry knows many of the Development Squad well and will work alongside Assistant Coach James Headland who was part of the coaching staff last year.
Parry, who holds a UEFA B License, told us
“It’s an exciting opportunity for me to help grow the Women’s game in the county. I was following last year and saw how well George (Anthony) and James did winning the double.
“I know a lot of the team and that will help with continuity going into the new season. Hopefully we can build on last season and keep developing talent that can go on to play in the First Team and beyond. I can’t wait to get started and begin working with the excellent staff and players at the club.
General Manager Gemma Sims told us
“Matt will be a great addition to our coaching staff. He knows the club well and has an excellent reputation as a coach, so we are really glad to have him on board.
