Oxford United look to end pre-season on a positive note when they welcome QPR to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Liam Manning's side have been in excellent form in their friendlies so far and as he told iFollow, they will be looking for a repeat of their impressive performance against Swansea at the same venue last weekend.
"We saw a lot of the ball against Swansea but I was more pleased about our shape and the way we went about our business" he said. "We have worked exceptionally hard all pre-season and I couldn’t have asked for much more from them.
"There have been perhaps two sessions during an intense six week period, often training twice a day, where we maybe needed a bit more but you are going to get that when people are working so hard for that long.
“In a week’s time I am going to have to make some big decisions on who plays in the opening game and that is made harder when you are telling someone they aren’t starting after they have given it their absolute all throughout pre-season.
"But we have brought in people who have the right attitude and the right character and they will all play their part over the course of the season.
"We have another chance to keep the good work going against QPR, when we expect another good test. They are a strong team, like Swansea and Bristol City who we played last weekend. But that’s what we need right now; one more challenge before we have a full week to gear everything towards that first game at Cambridge."
