Oxford United have further boosted their squad with the deadline day arrival of Tyler Smith on loan from Hull City until the end of the season.
Tyler, 24, started his career at hometown club Sheffield United and was part of Chris Wilder’s squad that reached the Premier League. After a series of loans to gain experience he joined Hull in the summer of 2021 and has been involved 15 times this season in the Championship, scoring three times.
He joins fellow Hull player Brandon Fleming on loan at the U’s and told us:
“I’m glad to get it sorted and hopefully I can play a part on Wednesday night against Barnsley. It’s a really impressive club and they play good attractive football which I hope will suit the way I like to play. The Gaffer spoke of the ambition at the club and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Karl Robinson said
“He’s a good player. He works hard, he is quick and he is a good finisher. We have spoken a lot about the need for forward players and with Tyler and Ateef Konate joining over the last 24 hours we have brought in two very exciting players who I am sure will do really well for us.”
Tyler will wear number 19 for the U’s. Want to sponsor his home, away or third kit? Email Commercial@oufc.co.uk or call 01865 337503 or 337513
