Oxford United Under 18s have the chance to make it to the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup since for the first time since Club records began tonight, as they host Championship side Cardiff City at the Kassam Stadium.
Kick off is at 7:45 PM tonight and tickets can be bought HERE for £6 for Adults and £3 for U18s and Over 65s.
It’s a really exciting tie for the young U’s, who have been excellent in the Youth Cup so far, winning all three games 3-1, and scoring some incredible goals.
Now, they get the opportunity to show what they can do on the big stage, in front of Oxford fans at the Kassam. Midfielder Josh Johnson, is excited for the chance
“We know what we want to do as a team and we want to keep going in this competition. We know what’s at stake so we want to do it for ourselves but for the club as well.”
Coach Chris Hackett said
“The Youth Cup is an amazing tournament because you get to play with the boys you’ve grown up with in environments that are exciting at the early stages of your career. I know people I played with at this age who hold these games very fondly, so it’s an incredible opportunity for the boys to show what they’re all about.”
“We know Cardiff will be a real challenge but we’ve watched them a lot and the boys have been excellent coming back this last two weeks after a break and we have every faith that they can get the job done.”
Come along to the Kassam to help the future of Oxford United make history.
