PREVIEW Burton Albion v Oxford United

Oxford United head for Burton Albion on Saturday in Sky Bet League 1 (3pm)

TEAM NEWS
United are without young defender Stephan Negru after he injured an ankle during the Oxon Senior Cup game at Oxford City in midweek. The Irish defender has been on the bench in recent weeks but misses out on a trip to the Pirelli Stadium.

However Josh Murphy could return to the squad after injury and with James Henry, Sam Baldock and Marcus Browne also stepping up their training United are starting to add to their attacking options.

With Ed McGinty now back in the squad after returning to Ireland for a family funeral youngster Kie Plumley steps down and has joined Beaconsfield on loan

THE OPPOSITION
Brewers boss Dino Maamria knows that his side have been on the wrong end of results in recent meetings between the teams.

“It’ll be a tough test,” he said. “We haven’t gotten the right results against Oxford since I’ve been at the club. Every time we play against them, we are on the wrong end of the results and it’s about time to change that.

“They have had some positive results, so we will need our fans behind us massively. It is not the time to dwell on past results. We’ve got to pull together as a football club, players, staff, fans, and we have to really galvanise the place and make The Pirelli Stadium a difficult place to come.

“I’ve said to the players that we can’t change what has happened in the past. We are where we are and all that we can do is start picking up results and climb up that table game by game.”
