Ipswich Guard of Honour

Our Guard of Honour as we take on Ipswich Town are Yarnton Blues FC U12’s who play in the Witney & District League.

Yarnton Blues  are a village team near Kidlington that was re-formed in 1990 and is dedicated to providing football across age groups from under 5’s upwards. The U12’s are managed by Will, with coaching support from Jamie, Matthew and Ian, as well as a loyal group of parents who are not only pitch-side come rain or shine but are also fast gaining a reputation for serving the best bacon butty and tea around!

The team has been together since 2017 when the players were five years old, many of whom remain in the squad today.

This season they have been playing in the A-league. Will said, “They are a really great bunch of lads who train hard and play some lovely fast football. It is a team effort, both on and off the pitch, and it’s great to have such a supportive and friendly group of players, parents, grandparents and siblings. Playing in the A League has been very competitive, the results haven’t necessarily gone our way, but the effort and performance from the whole squad has been superb. They thoroughly deserve this special day and we’re really proud of them.”

Make them feel welcome on Saturday.
