Oxford United’s 2022/23 Academy sponsor, Hope & Help Together were in attendance at the Kassam Stadium for the U18s FA Youth Cup success last Tuesday evening.
The Banbury-based charity enjoyed the cup victory against Cardiff City, seeing Gatlin O’Donkor find the back of the net on two occasions to beat the Welsh side 3-1 in front of 500 U’s fans.
Hope & Help Together is currently organising humanitarian help in the form of collecting donations in Banbury and then transporting these goods into the hands of the Ukrainians fleeing to Poland.
Owner at Autotrak, Michael Fox, who donated their branding space to Hope & Help Together spoke on the Academy’s success on Tuesday:
“The game on Tuesday was a great opportunity to see the Hope & Help Together logo adorned on the sleeves of the Academy for such an important FA Youth Cup fixture. After going 1-0 down in the first three minutes, the courage and determination shown by the U18s was a true credit to themselves against a very good Cardiff City side.
“Having played in front of just under 500 people at the stadium will have been a highly pressured experience for all of those young players and we’re proud to be a part of their journey into the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup – a first for the football club. We were pleased to see the young U’s will be up against either AFC Wimbledon or Leeds United in the Fifth Round of the competition”.
The charity has opened an official charity bank account, which is linked with their GoFundMe page where you can donate directly to them HERE: https://gofund.me/d81b9c69
