Oxford United will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Carlisle United to the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday.
The U’s went out of the Carabao Cup at Bristol City last night despite a Billy Bodin goal and as Billy told us after the game, it’s now time for the team to recapture their sparkling pre-season form:
“I think the picture after two games probably looks worse than what it actually is. Even tonight if we put a couple of our early chances away then it becomes a totally different game. We created three or four good opportunities and didn’t punish them. All of us are disappointed to have made the sort of mistakes we made, and when we did City punished us for them.
“As a former Bristol Rovers player it was nice to score: I knew a few people sat in that corner, that’s why I celebrated like that. It came back to bite me but that’s part of football!
"The good thing is we get a chance to get it out of our system quickly. Saturday will be completely different to tonight. Carlisle will be a different test to what we faced this evening. We need to get the last two results out of our system and play the way we know we can. It’s the first home game of the season and in front of our own fans we are really looking forward to it. “
