Gatlin Nominated for Apprentice of the Year

Oxford United forward Gatlin O’Donkor has been shortlisted for the LFE  League 1 Apprentice of the Year.

Gatlin has had an outstanding second year as a scholar, earning a professional contract and making 31 appearances for the First Team while also completing his LFE education.

“He has had an oustanding year” Head of Academy Stevie Kinniburgh told us. “For someone his age to be so heavily involved with the First Team and to be playing with the maturity that he shows is fantastic and he remains such a level-headed young man as well. We wish him well and congratulate him on the nomination.”

Taking place on Sunday 23 April, winners will be announced at the star-studded EFL Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.

The EFL Teams of the Season will be announced on the night with a starting XI chosen for each individual division. The EFL Goal of the Season award will be voted for by the public on ITV and announced on the evening.

New for 2023, the EFL will also be presenting the EFL Club Employee and EFL Innovation awards, alongside the Green Club and Diversity award. The League’s two most prestigious awards, the Contribution to League Football and Sir Tom Finney Award, will be given out on the night.
