Oxford United travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday looking to continue a three game winning streak.
A first away win of the season at Cheltenham was followed by a convincing 5-0 win over Leyton Orient in the Papa Johns Trophy before last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Burton Albion.
“It’s been a decent run of results, we have moved up the league and I think the performances before those games had been OK too, without getting the results from them,” Karl Robinson told us.
“I certainly don’t think we have been at our best so far but there a number of reasons for that and injuries have certainly not helped. I don’t think I have ever had to cope with what we have faced over the last couple of weeks.
“But rather than dwell on who is out, we’d rather look at the positives. Billy Bodin is back after suspension and Marcus Browne came back into the squad last weekend and has had another week’s training as well
"Sam Baldock is back out on the pitches and shouldn’t be too far away. Remember we also have Josh Murphy and Yanic Widschut to come back and that will give us plenty of pace and options.
“We will go to Shrewsbury, where we have had some remarkable performances over the last few seasons. They will be all too aware of that and be fired up and that should make for another really good game for the fans.”
There was one extra boost for the U’s, with Ciaron Brown available for Saturday.
“We always say family first,” Karl said, “and Ciaron and his partner became parents this week to a beautiful baby girl. He has had a little time at home but was in training today and should be involved on Saturday. Hopefully he marks the occasion with a goal.”
