The U’s welcome Peterborough United to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday looking to make it back to back league wins after victory at Exeter last weekend.
“That was an important win for so many reasons” Karl Robinson told us. “We played very well, certainly in the first half, and it was a bit frustrating to concede two goals late on that kind of took away from the win.
“We can tighten up on things like that and we have worked hard all week, but the big thing was to get a win so to score four goals as well was a terrific performance.
“I think the goals had been coming. We had been dominating matches but not getting the goals we felt we deserved. But hopefully we carry on scoring goals on Saturday.
“That’s not going to be easy. Peterborough are always in the mix towards the top of the table and we have had some really close games against them. There is a mutual respect between the two clubs and we know we are facing a team that is well coached and who have a lot of quality
“But it’s important that we pick up where we left off last weekend. We haven’t been able to string enough results together and find that consistency you need. We have managed to do that in other seasons so Saturday would be the perfect time to start doing that again, make it six points out of six in the league and keep clawing back some of the ground we lost at the start of the season.”
