Oxford United welcomed their skipper back on Saturday as Elliott Moore came back into the side at The Valley.
Elliott has been missing with a thigh injury but was excellent on his return and told iFollow:
“It was a frustrating injury, one I didn’t think would keep me out for as long as it has done, but it was great to be back out there again and to be part of a good team performance.
“It was definitely a step in the right direction. We are disappointed not to get all three points and at the end it might have gone either way but it’s a good stepping stone to go into this week and to try and build.
“In the first half the performance was very solid defensively and we created chances at the other end. We restricted Charlton to the minimal opportunities and we were comfortable at 1-0.
“We knew Charlton hadn’t played at their best and were going to respond. They did that and put us under a bit of pressure. I thought we dealt with that OK and settled back into our own game and could have won it at the end.
“Having said that we needed Easty to make one great save. We know what he is capable in moments like that- he is one of the best shop stoppers I’ve played with. It was a brilliant save so credit to him for that but also credit to the whole team and to the fans for their support.
“Now we move forward to two home games this week and hopefully we use the positives from Saturday and keep moving forward.”
