Oxford United’s under 18s are again in cup action today as they travel to Colchester United in the Professional Development League Cup (1pm).
The young U’s made progress in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday, beating Torquay United 3-1 to earn a home tie against Horndean in the second round.
Today they travel to Colchester looking to progress in a competition that sees Category 2 and 3 clubs compete to take on Category 1 clubs in the knockout stages.
United kicked off their campaign with a win over Watford but defeat against Luton means they need a positive result today to go through.
The U’s picked up one or two knocks in Saturday’s game and with Gatlin O’Donkor involved with the First Team tomorrow night and Josh Johnson on loan at Dartford will continue to give younger age group players a place in the squad.
We’ll have a full report on the game right here later today.
