Oxford United will wait for the results on scans after injuries to Djavan Anderson and Kyle Joseph in last night’s draw at Shrewsbury.
Right-back Anderson sustained an arm injury while on-loan striker Joseph was stretchered off with an ankle problem.
“We just need to wait and see how they settle down” Karl Robinson told iFollow. “They aren’t the kind of things you can prepare for at all. Djavan fell and someone trod on his arm. He carried on but it’s very uncomfortable and we need to get that checked properly, and Kyle will also have a full scan this afternoon.
“It was a strong challenge but not done with the intention of hurting him. It caught him and there is damage to his ankle but let’s wait and see what the scans show before we comment too much on it.”
The pair will miss Saturday’s home game against Port Vale, with Cameron Brannagan also missing out after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season. “
“Cameron has been quite bright in dealing with being on four yellow” Karl said “but he raised a boot last night and simply hadn’t seen the other player. Again, he caught him but it wasn’t done intentionally and now we miss him for a game. We have options and players who have been fighting for a chance to play so they will get an opportunity.”
