Oxford United look to extend their six-game unbeaten run on Saturday when Forest Green Rovers visit the Kassam Stadium (3pm).
“I think this run of games has really helped us to get stronger as a unit, and not losing gives more hope than being inconsistent,” Djavan Anderson told us. “I said it a few weeks ago before the Bolton game that I’m a real believer in the talent and quality we have in this team, it was just a matter of time.
“We got through that tough stage where we were struggling to get points. Now we’re in that second stage where we need to hold that momentum, just keep gaining points. The final stage is to keep everyone as sharp as possible and not look too far ahead. We need to look at it game by game".
Djavan has quickly become a favourite with the United fans and believes another home win on Saturday would give the U’s a huge boost:
“I think right now if we can hold the momentum where we are at the moment, anything is possible and achievable for us. Going into the game last weekend, if I compare it to a few weeks ago playing at home, I knew we were going to win.
“Having that belief in mind is already a huge step towards what we want to achieve as a team. We need to keep believing in ourselves.”
United have climbed to 12th in the table, while last year’s League Two champions currently sit bottom of League One ahead of this clash. Come and cheer on the U's:
