Billy Bodin bagged a brace as Oxford United made it safely through to the Emirates FA Cup Third Round with a 4-1 win over Exeter City on Saturday.
“In the second half we were a lot better anyway but as a sub you are always itching to get on, so to get on the pitch and get two goals meant I was buzzing” Billy told iFollow.
“It was a tough game and Exeter are a good side. Even in the league game at their place they pulled two goals back and made it quite tight for us so the scoreline that day didn’t quite reflect the way they had played. The same again today really.
“But regardless of that it’s a great result for us and now we have to take that on to Saturday at Accrington and try and keep this run going.
“Whatever competition, we just have to keep going. Our performances have been better and we are putting chances away now.
“We’re not doing too much different. Maybe earlier in the season we were trying too hard to get that early goal but I think if you keep working hard off the ball then sooner or later you will get that bit of luck you need and chances start falling for you.
“Today I had two fall nicely to me. The harder you work the luckier you get.”
