U's Prepare to Train in Spain

The new football season moves a step closer tomorrow.

No sooner do the fixtures come out at 9am then Oxford United’s players head for Spain for a pre-season training camp.

For the last two weeks United’s players have been offered optional sessions working with the Sports Science team at the Training Ground but on Thursday they will board a plane for Spain where the hard work will start during eight days of intensive testing and fitness work.

Friday will see the players test and train as a group for the first time and that will continue over the weekend and throughout next week.

The squad will then return to Oxford ahead of the opening game of pre-season, at Oxford City on Saturday 2nd July. Tickets are on sale for that game HERE

We will have coverage of the whole Training Camp across all of our channels plus the return of iFollow’s regular video catch ups with Karl Robinson and the players.

We hope to be able to welcome fans for one or two open training sessions in Spain - the timings and locations will be announced once we arrive in Spain and see what is feasible/practical.
