Oxford United Women have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of midfielder Naomi Cole.
Naomi, formerly of MIllwall and an England U23 international, has been captain at Crawley Wasps but joins the U’s with high hopes for the season ahead.
“It’s an exciting move for me” she said. “I have watched the way Oxford have grown as a team and as a club and they do things the right way. I have played against them for Millwall and for Crawley and they always struck me as an ambitious club with a really strong set up. I want to be part of that and to challenge myself.”
Manager Liam Gilbert welcomed Naomi, and believes she will play a big part in the season ahead.
“It’s a big signing for us” he said. “Naomi is such an influential player but also has real leadership qualities. She is very consistent, she drives teams forward and she has fitted in very quickly here. It’s a brilliant signal of our intent for the new season and we look forward to working with her.”
