Oxford United’s pre-season continues to gather pace with two midweek friendlies this week.
First the U’s travel to Hungerford Town on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) looking to build on wins at North Leigh and Banbury United on Saturday.
Then 24 hours later they travel to National League side Eastleigh (7.45pm) with the squad again divided between the two matches.
Karl Robinson told us:
“Saturday was a good test in both games and now we take on a National League South side and then a team who have been really competitive in the National League for a while now.
“Nearly everyone will get a run out. One or two players missed out on Saturday but aren’t too far off; Sam Baldock and Alex Gorrin have been training, for example, but are both coming back from injuries so we will manage their game time over the next couple of weeks. Alex is actually ahead of schedule but won’t be involved in these two games.
“We trained well today and now we get ready for two really good games where we can hopefully build our match sharpness.”
