U's Head For Home

Oxford United fly home today after a week of intense work on a pre-season Training Camp in Spain.

The players have been training each day at the Marbella Football Center and at Atalaya Park and Karl Robinson told us

“It has been one of the best pre-seasons I have been involved with in terms of the facilities here and the work the players have got through has been phenomenal.

“They average over 50km running distances over the week; someone looked at that and said “that’s half way to Marbella if you add them all together” which is very impressive. That has been done sensibly and has also included a lot of work with a ball involved as well so we have got a lot out of the week.

“I want to thank the players for their efforts. They have helped each other through some really tough sessions and we hope the bonds they have built will be a good foundation for what lies ahead.

“Now we get back to England, we play our first friendly on Saturday at Oxford City and then we can't wait to get the the Training Ground where the hard work continues next week.”

Oxford United would like to thank Sharon Hill and everyone at Perfection Travel, and all of the staff at the Marbella Football Center for their help over the past week.
