Oxford United Women will have a familiar face back with them when they welcome Portsmouth in the National League on Sunday.
Full-back Amber Roberts has rejoined the U’s after a spell at Cardiff and has been in impressive form while training with the squad for the last couple of weeks, as Boss Liam Gilbert told us
“Amber did really well for us when she was here before and has fitted back in straight away. She knows what we are about as a club, we know she is a really good player, so it’s a fantastic new addition to the squad and we have real competition in every position as we go in to the business end of the season.”
Amber told us
“It’s great to be back, Oxford United is just one big family and a great team on and off the pitch to be a part off although there are a lot of new faces. The squad is looking the strongest I’ve ever seen it for sure.
“But everyone has welcomed me back with open arms, the newer players as well as the ones I knew from before, so it has been easy. The team is on a fantastic run at the moment so I am looking to add competition to the squad and be part of what we all hope will end up being a really successful season.”
Amber will be hoping to be involved for the first time when the U’s welcome Portsmouth to Court Place Farm on Sunday.
Kick off is at 2pm and a warm welcome is always assured, not just for returning players but for fans as well. Come and join us as the U’s take on Pompey.
