Grundon Waste Management is the UK’s largest family-owned waste management and environmental services company. Headquartered in Benson, near Wallingford, Grundon has had a local presence in Oxfordshire since 1946.
Since then the business has grown in the area and now employs over 250 people in Oxfordshire at operating facilities in Banbury and Ewelme, which includes waste collection services, recycling operations and a Hazardous Waste Transfer station, along with the Head Office in Benson.

Sales
The opportunities to progress in sales at Grundon are some of the best in the waste industry, with many in the sales team having worked their way up from trainee level. Whether you are starting out or stepping up, Grundon can offer a fantastic career path in their top-performing business. New and emerging technologies, combined with looking at ways to reduce the environmental impact of waste, make working in waste a rewarding career path in more ways than one.
Labourers
If you're looking for an active job and are happy to work outdoors in all weathers, Grundon's specialist technical facility where aerosols, batteries, paint and more are assessed and sorted could be your perfect role. From operating waste processing equipment and forklifts to unloading lorries, there's plenty to keep you busy and satisfy your practical side. Look out too for vacancies in Industrial Services - think high-level deep cleaning, site decontamination and decommissioning projects involving confined-space entry, high-pressure water jetting and handling hazardous materials. It's not a job for everyone but it might just be up your street.
HGV Drivers
Grundon employs almost 300 drivers across the South-East and hugely value driving skill, reliability and a ‘customer-first’ attitude. Most are Class 2 (Category C), followed by Class 1 (Category C + E) (including a few long-distance drivers), and as a growing business, they are always on the lookout for diligent, skilled drivers. You’ll need the relevant licence, DQC and digital tachograph driver card; experience of driving different vehicle types (e.g. front-end loaders, waste wheelers etc) would be a bonus but not essential. Alternatively, if you’d like to become a HGV Driver, Grundon’s Trainee Driver vacancies are a popular route to becoming a qualified HGV Driver with a great road ahead of you.
