Oxford United head for Accrington on Tuesday night looking to continue their impressive form after a 3-2 win over Portsmouth on Saturday.
“Our fans were amazing on Saturday and we played really well but everyone knows it is going to be so difficult on Tuesday” Boss Karl Robinson told iFollow. “I was reading that their Manager is just 20 games short of 1,000 in charge of the same club now and that is remarkable. He knows how much I think of him and what he and his staff have done is just as remarkable. They are always on the front foot and they are a good club.
“It’s always a nice place to go for away fans, very welcoming, but in terms of the game itself it is going to be difficult.
“We have had some long journeys: Wigan last Tuesday, Accrington tomorrow, Crewe coming up soon with two very tough home games in the middle of that in Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth. The output from our players has been second to none and the football club is growing. We respect all other teams we meet and it will be no different tomorrow night. The players will have rested on Sunday and they will be refreshed and ready to go.
“Sam Baldock will come into the squad which gives us real experience and goals up front with Matty Taylor and Sam Winnall.
"We’ll wait and see on Sam Long who had a bit of a calf problem, but he won’t be far off and Marcus Browne is getting closer to fitnress every day so we are in good shape and we go to Accrington in good shape.”
