James Henry’s goal earned Oxford United a draw away at Accrington on Saturday but the U’s were frustrated not to come away with all three points after taking the lead.
“It was definitely three points slipping away from us rather than a good point away from home” James told iFollow. “We are disappointed that we didn’t push on after taking the lead and try to get that second goal. So we just have to take one point and move on to Barnsley.
“We are making progress all the time but that’s two games in a row now where we have to put our chances away and put the game to bed, but we haven’t. We have got to improve, and we will.
“The disappointing thing is to be in control of the game and then one big shot goes in; it was a good strike though, about 35 yards further out than where I scored mine!
“All the credit goes to Marcus Browne for our goal because he has done unbelievably well. I just gambled because I know he has that pace and power to get past people. He followed the ball and then put it on a plate for me.
“We now have a home game, against Barnsley on Saturday, to focus on. Get three points out of that and this point doesn’t look quite so bad.”
It’s the last home game before Christmas. Come along and get behind the U’s this Saturday.
