Oxford United Women host Plymouth Argyle Women in the Third Round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup this Sunday, the 11th of December. Kick-off is at 2 PM and ENTRANCE IS FREE for everyone.
Having travelled down to the South West last weekend, the U’s now welcome Argyle to Court Place Farm for an exciting home cup tie.
There’s plenty going on around the ground for our final home game of the calendar year, and we will be offering free entry to everyone to get behind the U’s for the last time in 2022. We will also have a special guest making an appearance, so make sure to bring friends and family down.
“It will be nice to see how many fans we can get in to watch it and we want to see some new faces to see us play. It should be a great day and hopefully we can end the year on a high” said Manager Liam Gilbert.
United beat Argyle 2-0 away from home early in the season, thanks to a brace from Leah Burridge.
The visitors beat Swindon Town Women 3-0 in the last round and currently sit eleventh in the Southern Premier Division.
If United can get past Argyle, they will make it into the Fourth Round, where Women’s Super League teams come into the fold, but Gilbert and his side are focusing on the game at hand.
“The main thing for us is to take this game as we do any other. It would be lovely and I’m sure a few people will be thinking about that but if Sunday doesn’t happen the way we want it to it’s irrelevant, so we are just looking at the weekend, how to break that one down and we’ll move on from there”
