Oxford United Women will face Hashtag United Women in a pre-season friendly this Sunday at Court Place Farm.
The Yellows will take on FA Women’s National League Division One South-West side Hashtag United tomorrow in their final pre-season friendly.
Manager Liam Gilbert said
“This is the last run-through before the real thing so hopefully, we’ve ironed out a lot of cobwebs over the last few weeks and we’re in as best a position as we can be ready to start the season the week after.
“Hashtag will be a very well-organised, drilled team. They’ve made some really good signings and got some very good players. It’s a really well-run club so we are expecting a brilliant challenge to end off pre-season.”
When asked if everyone at the club, including the coaching staff, were feeling fit and ready for the season, the gaffer said
“I think so! Ask me that question next week and I’ll see how I answer then.”
Kick-off is at 2 PM at Court Place Farm and the players have been training hard before their league campaign starts the following Sunday.
Hashtag United were only formed 6 years ago, when a YouTuber called Spencer Owen decided he wanted to start his own side. The club are based in Pitsea.
Hashtag Women narrowly missed out on promotion to the Southern Premier last season, finishing one point behind Billericay Town.
