PREVIEW Oxford United v Morecambe

Oxford United welcome Morecambe to the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday  (3pm)

TEAM NEWS

The U's are still waiting on the results of a scan after Marcus Browne took a kick to the knee in Tuesday's game against Lincoln. A full report is expected over the weekend but the winger joins Yanic Wildschut, Josh Murphy and Sam Baldock on the injured list.

"We have lost four very dangerous forward players" Karl Robinson told us "but part of our culture as a club is to find a way to overcome problems and keep moving forward. We have a good squad and we will look at what our options are."

Jodi Jones, Tyler Goodrham and Kyle Joseph are among the options available while young striker Gatlin O'Donkor is back in training after an ankle injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Morecambe have picked up two draws and two defeats in their opening four League One matches.

“We’ve done well in all four games so far” Manager Derek Adams said. “League One is definitely stronger than it was last season but our main objective is to stay in the division. We don’t look at the table until the 46th game of the season and what we’ve got to remember is the league campaign last season went to the 46th game.

“Oxford are always pushing at the top end of League One and have always got a good catchment area to get players in,” Adams said.“They are a team that wants to try and get into those play-off positions and they have one of the best players in the league in Cameron Brannagan, who they have been able to keep rather than lose to Blackpool in the Championship.”

Morecambe are without Max Melbourne, who will be out for up to eight weeks with a hamstring injury while top scorer Cole Stockton has handed in a  request after being out with illness for the last few games.
