Oxford United Women have signed young defender Lois Joslyn ahead of the new season.
The young full-back joins from Reading and will be available for this weekend’s season opener against Bridgwater United at Court Place Farm.
Manager Liam Gilbert knows Joslyn well and said
“It’s great to have her back, she’s been with us before, so she’s slotted back into the squad seamlessly. It’s exciting to have young talent dotted around the side and Lois will certainly contribute to that, and will hopefully be a real prospect for the future as well as a part of the squad for this season.”
At training, Lois said
“I’m very excited. It’s a big challenge for me coming from academy football up into the first team, so it’s a good step up.
“It’s an exciting time to be here, we are obviously pushing for promotion. There are some good players here already and good players coming in. I’m hoping to bring some strong tackles in defence.”
Lois is one of our own, having played with the club since a young age.
“Yeah, I know quite a few of the girls actually. I’ve been here since I was seven years old until I was sixteen. Liam (Gilbert) was here when I was here before, so I’ve worked with him quite closely and it’s great to be back.
“I just want to get some game time really and develop as a player. I want to hopefully help achieve the aims and the goals that we want to reach and get promotion.”
Catch Lois Joslyn and the rest of the squad in their first league game at Court Place Farm this Sunday, the 21st of August.
