Oxford United Women travel to Southampton tonight looking to finish the season strongly against the League Champions.
The Saints have marches to the title in the National League South season and will be looking to celebrate winning the league, but as Manager Liam Gilbert told us, United have their own agenda:
“Southampton are a very good side, we know that, but we aren’t going there to applaud what they have achieved, we are going there to try and win a game of football. We have been playing well ourselves and after a good win at Ipswich we now have a chance of finishing second in the league; that would be a massive achievement given the resources that other clubs in our league have available.
“We know we have to win both of our games to do that and we have a tough week- Ipswich, Southampton and Gillingham in a week, all away, but every time we have had challenges this season they have brought the best out of the girls and I hope tonight does the same.”
