PREVIEW Oxford United v MK Dons

Oxford United welcome MK Dons to the Kassam Stadium this evening (7.45pm)

Results over the weekend leave the U's five points off the play-off places with three games to play while defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday left the Dons one place outside the automatic promotions places. Which sets things up for a key 90 minutes this evening...

TEAM NEWS
James Henry's clash of heads in the win at Fleetwood mean he is ruled out but Sam Winnall returns to the squad after missing out on Good Friday.

Marcus Browne, Sam Baldock, Alex Gorrin and Jamie Hanson are all back on the training pitches after injury but boss Karl Robinson's biggest decision may be whether to stick with four at the back or play the wing-back shape that he has employed in recent weeks.

THE OPPOSITION
Boss Liam Manning is well aware of the dangers that United present to his team:

“They're so dangerous, the number of goals they have scored, the threats and how attacking they are make them exciting to watch. I'm not looking at the permutations, but I know we'll be need to be at our best and maximum to get something from the game.”

United won 2-1 at Stadium MK earlier in the season as Covid caused problems for the MK boss

“I think we were close to having it called off with six or seven missing” he said. “It wasn't ideal, but I think we played really well in the first half with a make-shift team. We responded well, but in the second half, Oxford came after us and there were a couple of moments where we turned it over and it cost us the game.”
