Karl Previews MK Dons

Oxford United will be without James Henry when they welcome MK Dons to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday evening, but boss Karl Robinson believes the win at Fleetwood on Friday has set his side up for one final push towards the League 1 play-offs.

“James has been in today and looks a lot better than we feared on Friday” he told iFollow. “It was a horrible collision and he went straight to hospital in Blackpool for scans and treatment and then we got him home by about 5.30 on Saturday morning and then he was back in a hospital closer to home again by 9 o’clock that morning.

“There were a lot of stitches and a fracture at the top of the nose but he is OK and will be fine, which is the most important thing. As to whether he can play again this season, I doubt it but you never know although he won't be involved tomorrow night, clearly.

“We have given ourselves a chance with that win on Friday. It got tense but that’s what happens at this stage of the season. I was watching what happened with Liverpool over the weekend, and with the MK Dons game against Sheffield Wednesday.

"There is a nervous tension that adds to the fatigue levels, but we had the mental strength to see it through and now we have another big game - I think I will be saying that about each of the games we have left now.

“MK have had a magnificent season and are a really good team and I have such great memories of my time there. But my only concern on Tuesday night is getting a win for Oxford. We trained on Sunday, trained today and we have looked like we are ready for the challenge we face, starting tommorrow night.”
