Oxford United’s under 18s continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-1 win at Newport County on Saturday morning.
Two goals from striker Gatlin O’Donkor and a late effort from winger Amari Davis-Stephenson soon after coming on as a sub ensured that the U’s remain undefeated in the league so far and coach Chris Hackett told us:
“A number of the lads played in the First Team at Cambridge in midweek and our message to them in between was that we were looking for attiitude and to see that they had used that experience as a positive and had used it well.
“It would have been easy to let our standards slip but we didn’t do that, we took our chances and the lads should be really pleased with the result.”
