Oxford United have been given a boost with four players returning to training today ahead of Saturday’s home game against Gillingham.
Marcus McGuane, Elliott Moore, Cameron Brannagan and Sam Winnall all missed Saturday’s game at Cheltenham through injuries but were able to train today and should be in contention for Saturday’s game at the Kassam Stadium provided they suffer no reaction.
That leaves just Jamie Hanson unavailable and as Karl Robinson explained, the versatile former Derby man shouldn’t be too far behind his teammates:
“First of all it was good to have the four players back. It was a very intense session and they did well so we’ll just keep an eye on them tomorrow but hopefully they will be in contention.
“Jamie has had so much bad luck with injuries but he has gone to see a specialist today who gave him the green light to return to contact training after his shoulder injury. He has been working hard already and is ahead of schedule. His core fitness is good and with a bit of luck he should get up to speed fairly quickly.”
