It's not just past players returning on Sunday when football across Oxford pays tribute to Mickey Lewis.
Mickey Lewis’s extraordinary life in football across Oxfordshire will be celebrated with stars from the past at Oxford United, Oxford City and the University side all joining together for a memorial game called ‘One for the Road’
The day will see two eras of United represented with a Legends side playing the first half and a '2010' themed reunion side then playing the second 45 minutes.
Which means that two sets of Management teams are also needed...
Returning to the club to take charge of the sides are Denis Smith and Malcolm Crosby, the men who guided the boys of 96 to promotion with Mickey a key member of their squad. Adding to the Management team will be Mickey's former teammate Steve McLaren who went on to manage England.
Meanwhile the 2010 team will also have a fantastic management duo that sees their Manager Chris Wilder teaming up with current boss Karl Robinson!
The list of players for these amazing Managers to choose from is growing by the day and will mean a fitting tribute for Mickey.
We know people will want to come along to the game and pay their respects as well as see so many great names from the past but we have an extra incentive for you if you still haven’t bought your tickets.
Everyone who has already bought or who buys a ticket before 5pm on Friday 8th October will go in to a draw to win an Executive Box for Oxford United’s Sky Bet League 1 home game against Morecambe on Saturday 30th October.
Up to ten people can enjoy the game in style, complete with tea and coffee, programmes and Teamsheets along with two reserved parking places and one of the best views in the house
Tickets are available HERE but even if you can’t get along to the day we urge fans to help on this: every penny raised will go to Micky’s wife Suzanne and young son Zach so CLICK HERE to make a donation
