PREVIEW Oxford United v Peterborough United

Oxford United welcome league leaders Peterborough United to the Kassam Stadium this evening (7pm)

TEAM NEWS
The U's will be without Sam Winnall who rolled his ankle shortly after coming on as a sub at MK Dons on Saturday. That will open the door for either Rob Hall or Jamie Hanson to return to the matchday squad, although both may be involved if one or two other knocks fail to heal after Saturday.

Marcus McGuane's season is over and John Mousinho is still ruled out but young defender Luke McNally is making good progress as he regains full fitness.

Boss Karl Robinson's biggest decision may be whether to play both Brandon Barker and Mide Shodipo on the flanks

"We thought it was the right thing to do on Saturday" he told iFollow. "It caught MK by surprise that we had four up top and it made for an open game. We won't do it every game but they both have that pace and it's certainly exciting to watch."

THE OPPOSITION
Six straight wins have left Darren Ferguson’s side four points clear of Lincoln at the top of the table but they won’t be taking anything for granted tonight:

“I told the players this morning that this is not to time to let up" he said. "I challenged them to keep improving and to put their foot down again. The players have been great in difficult circumstances and my staff have been outstanding, but we have achieved nothing as yet. I hope we will achieve our aim of promotion, but there is such a long way to go and some very tough matches ahead starting at Oxford.

“Oxford are a a very good side though, They have been on an incredible run and they’ve got themselves right into contention which I expected. They are a handful up front, especially out wide where they have plenty of pace and skill. It’s a tough test for us, but we are looking forward to games at the moment.”
