Oxford United Women welcome Charlton Athletic Women this Sunday (2pm KO) for the final home friendly of pre-season.
TEAM NEWS
With all new signings having appeared in The U’s' last two pre-season fixtures and no injury issues to report, Manager Liam Gilbert emphasised the importance of continuing building match fitness this Sunday:
“At this stage in pre-season, the most important thing is that we get through the minutes safely, getting as many minutes into the players’ legs as we can, and Charlton should pose a really good challenge for us.
“Having worked with Dean Tetley who is now in charge of their physical performance, I know that they will be a very sharp and well-organised team.”
TICKETS
It is pay on the gate this Sunday for supporters, with ticket prices for adults £3 and concessions £1, while under-16s go FREE. OPPOSITION OVERVIEW
Women’s Championship side Charlton Athletic will be familiar with Court Place Farm from their visit in the Women’s FA Cup at the end of last season, having defeated The U’s 2-1 on that occasion.
The Addicks’ first goalscorer from that day, Beth Lumsden, has since switched allegiances to play in yellow and blue for this campaign, whereas United’s former Head of Physical Performance Dean Tetley has joined Karen Hills’ Charlton side as they took the step to turn professional over the summer.
