Oxford United open their pre-season games with a short trip across the city of dreaming spires this evening.
The U’s start their warm up games with a friendly at Oxford City, with a 7pm kick off at Court Place Farm.
Karl Robinson’s side have enjoyed a tough week of pre-season training and now go into a busy week of games: City tonight, a friendly behind closed doors on Saturday, Hayes and Yeading at Thame United on Tuesday evening and a game at Banbury United on Wednesday.
Tonight will see a strong squad with the starting line-up then replaced in the second half and those roles reversed in tomorrow’s game.
The only player not risked is John Mousinho who has made a remarkable recovery after a knee operation but will not be risked in a match until Tuesday at the earliest. Similarly Sam Long, Marcus McGuane, Sam Winnall and Billy Bodin will be eased into match action over the weekend.
Youngsters Leon Chambers-Parillon, Michael Elechi, Kie Plumley, Gatlin O’Donkor, Tyler Goodrham and Ben Watt will all feature this evening
With Covid-19 safety protocols still in place Court Place Farm will be operating at a reduced capacity for this match and the game is now SOLD OUT
