Oxford United are delighted to announce one of the club’s longest serving partners, Polythene UK Ltd have developed their partnership with the club for the upcoming season.
Entering a second decade as United’s back of shirt sponsor, the Witney based packaging company have now enhanced their association with the U's by becoming the club’s official Academy sponsor for both our girls and boys teams. Their logo will prominently feature on the shirt sleeve of all Academy kits this season.
For those who are not so familiar with our longstanding partner, Polythene UK offer products across a range of categories including pallet covers, polythene bags, stretch wrap films and polythene films, to name a few.
Established in Witney in 2007, Polythene UK quickly made its name as the country’s leading independent supplier of polythene products. In early 2013, the company moved to new premises specifically designed to be carbon neutral and equipped with a high-tech renewable energy system. Then Prime Minister David Cameron officially opened the new building in May 2013.
Since joining the club in 2010, Polythene UK have experienced some memorable occasions during their ongoing 11-year stint with the U’s. Their first season on the back of the Yellows’ shirt, was also United’s return to the Football League after a four year absence.
Fast forward to the glorious 2015/16 season where Polythene UK’s badge joined the U’s on their journey up and down the country to secure automatic promotion to League One. A memorable final day victory against Wycombe Wanderers capped off a campaign to remember.
Over the years, Polythene UK’s loyalty to the club has been rewarded with three trips to Wembley and some mouth-watering cup fixtures against Premier League opposition in Swansea City, West Ham United, Manchester City and Newcastle United. With significant TV audiences and full capacity crowds, there has been invaluable exposure for the Polythene UK brand throughout the years.
Speaking on the continuation of this fruitful partnership, Oxford united’s managing Director Niall McWilliams said, “We’re all delighted to be building on our well-established relationship with Polythene UK.
