PREVIEW Burton Albion v Oxford United

Oxford United kick off 2021 with a trip to Burton Albion on Saturday (3pm)

TEAM NEWS
The U's welcome back Alex Gorrin after a one game suspension but are without Liam Kelly for the same reason.

The former Reading midfielder picked up his fifth yellow of the season during the win at Plymouth on Tuesday and misses the game as a result.

Jamie Hanson came in for Gorrin on Tuesday and did well in the holding role and Karl Robinson must decide whether to keep the former Derby man in that position or perhaps bring Anthony Forde in as a direct replacement for Kelly further forward.

THE OPPOSITION
Burton parted company with Manager Jake Buxton on Tuesday night after a 4-3 home defeat to Wigan Athletic which left them bottom of the table and four points behind Swindon in 23rd.

The Brewers were in front three times in that game but went throughout December without a win, leading to Buxton's departure.

Former Burton midfielder John McGrath, now in charge at Mickleover is the bookies' favourite to take over at the Pirelli although the new boss, whoever it is,  is unlikely to be in place before Saturday's game.
