Oxford United’s impressive form continued with a point at Ipswich on Saturday making it just one defeat in 14 league games- a run that started with another 0-0 draw against the same side back on December 1st
“I think it’s a good point on the road,” Rob Atkinson told iFollow after helping the U’s to another clean sheet.
“It’s a beautiful stadium and Ipswich are a big club and I think if the fans were in it would be a really good point. I know they’re not in the best run of form right now, but all things considered I think it’s a really good point to get.”
“I do think there is room for even more improvement and we’re going to have to bring our A game for Tuesday because Portsmouth are up there. If we want to be up there, we need to perform better than we did today.”
“The run has been fantastic,” he said “but we can’t just end on that; we’ve got to build on it. The clean sheet was a bonus but a win is much more important.
"Yes, a clean sheet is nice, and it looks good at the end of the season when you look back; you don’t really remember the performances, you just remember the clean sheets and it ticks off a stat
“But ultimately we want to be winning. So I’m happy with the point but disappointed we couldn’t do a bit more and now we have to try to go one better on Tuesday.”
