Oxford United’s under 18s face Bristol Rovers in the Youth Alliance at the Bangkok Glass Training Centre this Saturday at 11am.
After a difficult loss against Forest Green Rovers last weekend the U’s are looking to bounce back.
“We have to be more clinical if we want to win this league” Coach Darren Purse said. “We need to finish more chances because when we don’t, we allow teams back into the game and make it difficult for ourselves.”
The U’s are still in contention for the league sitting in third place and six points behind leaders Bournemouth with a game in hand.
“We are still in this title race for sure”, Purse said. “The boys know how important these next few games are as the run of games we have remaining are very winnable. In doing so, it will be very hard for any of the teams at the top of the table to keep up with us. We must work even harder in training to be more clinical and keep tight it the back because when we get the ball down and start playing, we are one of the best playing sides in the league.”
Rovers produced an impressive performance against second in the league Portsmouth last weekend, beating them 3-2 and have won 3 out of their last 5 games in the league.
Full updates will be on OUFCOfficial and a report will be here after the final whistle.
