Oxford United travel to Sunderland on Saturday in Sky Bet League 1 (3pm)
TEAM NEWS
United are still affected by the recent covid positive tests which left them without seven players last week. All of those seven are back in training but some had no symptoms while others were ill last week and those players will need to be gently eased back in to action.
Goalkeeper Connal Trueman has returned to Birmingham City but with Simon Eastwood and Jack Stevens back on the training pitches young keeper Mackenzie Chapman has joined St Ives Town on loan.

THE OPPOSITION
Saturday is the first of three home games for Sunderland, with the U’s having three away games by contrast. With injuries affecting his options boss Lee Johnson saw a much-changed side lose to Oldham Athletic in the Papa John’s Trophy in midweek
"The reality is that we weren’t good enough against a side that’s second bottom in the Football League," Johnson said.
The Black Cats are likely to revert to the basis of the side that beat Cambridge United in the League last Saturday, a win that left them three points ahead of the U’s in fifth place in the table.
