The Board, Staff and Players of Oxford United would like to wish all of the club’s supporters a Merry Christmas.
With no game on Boxing Day we hope everyone stays safe, has a fantastic few days and comes back refreshed and ready to back the U’s one more time when we welcome AFC Wimbledon on 29th December, the last game of what has been an unforgettable year.
“It was unforgettable for so many reasons” Chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth said. “Off the pitch we just hope everyone stays safe and looks after each other. Get together with your family and friends but we know so many people are testing positive so we want fans to enjoy themselves in as safe a way as possible.
“I look back at 2021 and my favourite day of them all was the last home game against Wigan. Not because of the result but because I could be there and be part of it for the first time in 20 months. It was an emotional day for me but to be back with my Oxford United family was amazing and I look forward to experiencing that with everyone many more times in 2022.”
Manager Karl Robinson also wished everyone a Merry Christmas:
“I want to say a massive thank you to all the fans. I love being at this club and between all of us we have built something very special here.
“I can’t remember ever having Boxing Day with no football but I hope everyone gets together with their loved ones and if you can, then raise a glass to your football club on Christmas Day. It has been a long year for so many people but celebrate the good things and hopefully we can end 2021 with one last win on 29th.”
