REPORT Exeter City U18 4 Oxford United U18 4

Oxford United’s under 18s ended 2021 with an amazing 4-4 draw away at Exeter City on Saturday morning.

In a game littered with goals United could have snatched a win despite being behind four times to an Exeter side who were in second place in the EFL Youth Alliance League South West Division.

United’s goals came through a brace from midfielder Josh Johnson plus goals from Elijah Coe and Will Owens.

“The mindset of the team was very strong”, coach Chris Hackett told us.

“We perhaps could’ve won the game at the end but I can’t fault the boys’ attitude throughout the game for one of the hardest away days of the season, having an early start for a long journey and being able to pick themselves back up four times to come away with a point was encouraging to see.”
